One of the most important functions the tablet performs is the ability to communicate with the office and the master database. The synchronization process involves sending local changes from the tablet to the master database and reconciling any changes from the master database with the tablet. The sync operation utilizes two way communications with the master database.
NOTE: If a new version of the application is issued, executing a Sync will not update the app to the current version. Separate communication from the CCMS Management team will point users toward the download site for application updates; the current location is here-https://ccms.rkk.com/mobile
The Inspector has complete control of when Sync operations occur. The application does not require a set schedule for executing Sync operations. However, when entering data, it is highly recommended you sync periodically and at least one a day. This will insure your edits are saved to the master database and new information which may affect you is downloaded to the tablet. There may also be a situation where time is an issue and the OE may request you to Sync so updated information can be sent or received immediately.
NOTE: Much thought and care has gone into the application's data management and Sync process. However, many factors can affect your ability to perform a Sync operation to save your data, including tablet hardware or software issues. The inspector should consider any edits made on the tablet since the last Sync as “at-risk”, and the more of these local tablet edits you have the more risk you are assuming.
