A typical/common construction project containing one prime contractor tasked with building a specific item could be modeled as shown below.  This scenario would model a construction project in which the authorized value of all pay items plus any MWA budget would equal the original contract value. There would be one prime contractor who would be paid through one series of progress payments (typically monthly).
