Labor records are added during the IDR entry process and associated with a specific crew. Each crew added to an IDR includes the Labor component; however a labor entry is not required for any crew. If this is the case, the user will have to check the No Labor box in the IDR Crew Editor.
There are two different labor user interfaces available capture labor information in CCMS:
- Basic Mode
- Detailed Mode
The main difference between Basic and Detailed is the level of detail required for each entry. Basic mode entries require a count and total hours worked for each labor type. Detailed mode entries require information on each individual laborer. To illustrate the difference, take the following 3 man painting crew:
- Brad Thomas – Foreman – worked 8 hours
- Bill Jones – Painter - worked 8 hours
- Steve Smith – Painter - worked 4 hours
For Basic Mode, the following two labor entries would be required:
Labor Type
Count
Hours Worked
Foreman
1
8
Painter
2
12
For Detailed Mode, the following three labor entries are required:
Labor Type
Name
Hours Worked
Foreman
Brad Thomas
8
Painter
Bill Jones
8
Painter
Steve Smith
4
The choice of which interface to use for IDRs is made when the contract is setup in CCMS by the Contract Manager. Labor for FAR is always collected using the Detailed mode user interface.
